According to Jainism,
the souls that have attained complete liberation from the circle of
life and death are called gods or 'Siddhas'. These souls are
above
worldly emotions for symbolic purpose. We make idols and temples to
offer the prayers but one is neither blessed nor cursed.
In this religion it is
supposed that there are certain sprits or angels who are devoted to Lords,
thus known as 'Devas' and 'Devis'. They possess immense super power and
are pleased & displeased as well. These heavenly gods bestow blessings to
the devotees of Lord.
The
Tirthankaras establish the rules of religion and lay the foundation of
religious order known as Sangha. It is composed of Monks and Nuns, laymen
& lay women. The sangh is protected by high sense of spiritualism but for
its outer protection. It is presumed that the Heavenly Devis take the
charge of Shasan Devi. It is professed as the order of certain Tirthankara
will continue, till than these devis will take care of the well being of
that order.
